The Candino company was founded in 1947 in the town of Herbetswil in the canton of Solothurn by merging two of the oldest Swiss clans of watchmakers, Flury and Hug. The name was chosen as a derivative of the Latin word Candidus, which in Russian means "white, pure, sincere". Today, the Candino brand is famous for its best price-quality ratio. The brand belongs to the "business class" watches
